13th Annual Christmas Day at Pitt Celebration
PITTSBURGH—The University of Pittsburgh community once again will serve neighbors in need at the 13th annual Christmas Day at Pitt. The celebration features food, music and, of course, Santa with gifts for the kids. Guest registration is coordinated by the Salvation Army in partnership with local service organizations.
WHAT: Volunteers from the University of Pittsburgh will serve approximately 2,500 meals on Christmas Day to individuals and families in need. More than 500 holiday gifts for children and 1,000 gift bags filled with warm winter accessories — donated through on-campus collections — will be distributed to guests.
WHEN: 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2018.
NOTE TO MEDIA: Santa begins distributing gifts around noon; opportunities for the best visuals are noon-2 p.m.
