Pitt Alumnus to Be Remembered at the Seventh Annual Tom Ablauf Memorial Golf Tournament June 27

PITTSBURGH—Hampton Presbyterian Church will sponsor the seventh annual Tom Ablauf Memorial Golf Tournament, Golf Scramble, and Silent Auction from 10 a.m. to

6 p.m. June 27 at Wildwood Golf Club, 2195 Sample Rd., Allison Park. A banquet and awards presentation begins at 6 p.m.

The event, held in memory of a Pitt alumnus Ablauf (CAS '98) who died in a 1998 car accident, benefits the Tom Ablauf Memorial Scholarship Funds at the University and the church.

The tournament format comprises an 18-hole scramble in teams of four. Highlights include a hole-in-one contest, lunch, silent auction, and dinner. Sponsorship opportunities also are available. Those unable to participate in the golfing activities may attend the silent auction and dinner.

A member of Hampton Presbyterian Church from birth, Ablauf participated in such activities as choir, handbells, youth groups, and church basketball and softball leagues. He graduated with honors from Hampton High School in spring 1993 and began attending Pitt in the fall, majoring in neuroscience.

While at Pitt, Ablauf was actively involved in Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, Pitt's Blue and Gold Society, Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society, and the Order of Omega. He also repeatedly was named to the dean's list. After graduating from Pitt in, Ablauf began working as a pharmaceutical sales representative with Parke-Davis.
