University Statement on Death of Student
PITTSBURGH-With deepest regret, the University of Pittsburgh reports the sad news of the death of a graduate student. The body of Megan L. Dietz, a Ph.D. student in biological sciences in the School of Arts and Sciences, was found in a Ruskin Hall apartment shortly before 9 a.m. Sept. 8; paramedics pronounced her deceased at the scene. Pittsburgh homicide detectives and the Allegheny County Coroners Office are conducting an investigation. An autopsy is being performed to determine the cause of death. At this time, there appears to be no foul play.
Our thoughts are with her family during this time of loss; we extend our deepest sympathies to her loved ones and her friends and colleagues.
