2/2 As part of the Pitt Asian Studies Center's Asia Over Lunch Spring 2006 Series, Christian Gerlach, an assistant professor of history at Pitt, will give a lecture, titled "An Alliance for Violence: The Slaughter of Indonesian Communists, 1965-66," at noon, Room 4130, Posvar Hall, 230 S. 2/5 Ogle Burks Duff, emerita professor in the Pitt School of Education, will coordinate the 17th Annual African American Read-In-Chain, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the First Baptist Church main sanctuary, 159 N. Bellefield Ave., Oakland. Richard Teaster will direct a combined First Baptist Church Choir and Pitt Women's Ensemble and Glee Club starting at 2:45 p.m., which will perform occasionally throughout the readings. The Read-In is sponsored by the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers of English. 2/2 In celebration of the 125th anniversary of Three Rivers Youth, the oldest agency in

Allegheny County to serve Black children, a Pitt-sponsored exhibition, titled From Colored Orphans to Youth Development, will run through March 5 at the John Heinz History Center, 1212 Smallman St. The exhibition will feature vintage photos, artifacts, and printed materials.
