Pitt School of Law to Present Inaugural Distinguished Lecture in Intellectual Property Law March 28

PITTSBURGH-University of Pittsburgh School of Law alumnus Q. Todd Dickinson (LAW '77) will deliver the Inaugural Distinguished Lecture in Intellectual Property Law, titled "Intellectual Property in a Global Economy," from 3 to 4:30 p.m. March 28 in Room 113 of the Barco Law Building, 3900 Forbes Ave., Oakland.

The free public lecture will be followed by a reception.

Dickinson, vice president and chief intellectual property counsel at General Electric Company, will assess the state of intellectual property (IP) protection in a global economy from his perspective as the chief IP counsel of a broad-based multinational corporation and as former director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He also will address the current proposals for legislative reform of the U.S. patent laws as well as the Supreme Court's recent heightened interest in intellectual property cases.

This lecture has been approved by the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Board for 1.5 hours of substantive CLE credit. The cost for the credit is $25, payable when registering at the door in cash or by a check made out to the University of Pittsburgh.
