Pitt Welcomes Hollywood Insider to Give Firsthand View of Film Industry March 28

PITTSBURGH—The University of Pittsburgh will welcome casting director Nancy Mosser to give an insider's view of the film industry at 4 p.m. March 28 in Room 205 Lawrence Hall, 3942 Forbes Ave., Oakland. The student film group Pitt in Hollywood is sponsoring the event.

Initially starting her entertainment career as a producer, Mosser worked for 14 years in television and film production before turning to freelance casting work in 1989. In 1993, she founded Nancy Mosser Casting and has helped to cast numerous Hollywood productions, including "Money For Nothing" (1993), "Kingpin"(1996), "Inspector Gadget" (1999), "Wonder Boys" (2000), and the recently released "Adventureland"(2008). Mosser is currently casting the upcoming films "Bridge to Nowhere," "The Road," and "Shelter."

Pitt in Hollywood is a student organization that aims to demystify how the film industry works by providing Pitt students with networking opportunities and internships in the film industry. Former Pitt in Hollywood guest speakers have included John Dellaverson, producer for Lion's Gate Films; Ron Nyswaner, screenwriter for the film "Philadelphia"; and Louie Anderson, comedian and star of "Life with Louie" and "Family Feud".
