Pitt Business School Lecture to Explore Methods of Developing and Leading Ethical Organizations

PITTSBURGH-Pitt's Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business will present the public Pittsburgh Executive Series Lecture by Bradley Agle, an associate professor of strategy, organizations, and environment at the Katz School, at 8 a.m. June 8 on the fifth floor of Alumni Hall, 4227 Fifth Ave., Oakland. Attendance is free, but registration is required.

During the public lecture, "Creating and Leading an Ethical Organization: Going Beyond the Basics," Agle will explore various approaches to developing and leading an ethical organization. Going beyond the basics of creating an ethical code of conduct and performing ethics training, Agle will discuss various measurement instruments that gauge the ethical culture of an organization and the ethical nature of its leader and current or potential employees. He also will explore the techniques that help identify organizational weak points and discuss ways of closing those gaps.

Agle previously served as director of the David Berg Center for Ethics and Leadership at the Katz School, cochair of the Pittsburgh Business Ethics Award, and a judge for the American Business Ethics Awards. He teaches courses in business ethics and strategic leadership. He also has taught in Brazil, China, England, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia.
