Secretary of the Treasury Paul O'Neill Speaks on Business Ethics For Pitt's Katz Graduate School of Business, Berg Center for Ethics and Leadership

PITTSBURGH—U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Paul H. O'Neill will speak on the subject of business ethics at the University of Pittsburgh at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 21.

O'Neill will address students earning a Master of Business Administration degree from and faculty of the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business (KGSB), as well as students and faculty from other Pittsburgh area universities. He appears as a guest of the David Berg Center for Ethics and Leadership and KGSB at Alumni Hall (formerly the Masonic Temple), 4227 Fifth Avenue.

The 72nd secretary of the Department of the Treasury, O'Neill was sworn into service Jan. 20, 2001. He was chair and CEO of Alcoa, the world's leading producer of primary and fabricated aluminum, from 1987 to 1999, retiring at the end of 2000 to enter the Bush Administration. His experience of transforming an old economy firm into a new economy success has been studied in business schools across the nation.

The David Berg Center for Ethics and Leadership was established in 1998 under the auspices of KGSB and Pitt. Its mission is "to be a leading academic institute in the understanding, promotion and development of ethical leadership."
