PITTSBURGH—The University of Pittsburgh's Computer Learning Center, a division of the College of General Studies (CGS), in partnership with I/Tech Services, Inc., will offer new courses related to Information Technology (IT) industry certification beginning in December. Those interested in learning more about the programs may attend a free IT Career Night, at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 19 in Room 1105 of the Kossman Building, 100 Forbes Ave., downtown.

The new industry certification courses are designed to help students to improve their skills, advance in their fields, and meet the needs of today's competitive job market. The Microsoft Certified Administrator and the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer programs offer training in business system requirements, installation and configuration of infrastructure components, and troubleshooting. The A+ Certified Computer Technician and the Network + programs train students to upgrade, repair, and troubleshoot personal computers. Day and evening classes will be offered, and financial aid is available to those who qualify.

The center offers hands-on courses in desktop publishing and graphics, programming, networking, and Internet topics, as well as certificate programs in business software, web design and authoring, and database development.
