Pitt's Kuntu Repertory Theatre to Offer Free Acting Classes Featuring Woodie King Jr. from Feb. 2 through 8 Program culminates with stage reading of August Wilson works

PITTSBURGH—The University of Pittsburgh's Kuntu Repertory Theatre will offer a week of free acting classes conducted by producer and director Woodie King Jr., founder of the new Federal Theatre of New York, from Feb. 2
through 8.
The week will culminate with staged readings of two August Wilson plays, The Homecoming and Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 8. Both the acting classes and the staged readings will be held in the Seventh-Floor Auditorium of Alumni Hall, 4227, Fifth Ave., Oakland. These stage readings are part of Kuntu's 2002-2003 season, which is dedicated to protégés and their mentors.
The acting classes and stage readings are free. The classes are sponsored by the Multicultural Arts Technical Assistance Program, which is funded by the Pittsburgh Foundation.
