10/1 A screening of Twilight Samurai, directed by Yoji Yamada, will take place at Carnegie Mellon University in the McConomy Auditorium at the University Center. This event is sponsored by Pitt's Asian Studies Center and is part of the 2004 Japanese Film Series, "Contemporary Scene, From Comedy to Kabuki/Samurai." Admission is free. 10/6 Pitt Repertory Theatre presents Ubu, written by Alfred Jarry and directed by Lofty Durham, at the Henry Heymann Theatre in the Stephen Foster Memorial, Forbes Avenue and Bigelow Boulevard, Oakland. Performances run from Oct. 6 to 17. Show times are Wednesdays through Fridays at 8 p.m., with a Tuesday, Oct. 12, performance, as well. Saturday performances will be held at 5:30 p.m. and 9 p.m., and Sunday matinees are at 2 p.m. Admission is $19 for reserved seats and $10 for students.
