Pitt's Department of Psychology Marks 100th Anniversary with Open House, Panel Discussion
PITTSBURGH—From its roots as a small program with eight courses in experimental psychology to an internationally renowned department producing breakthrough research, the University of Pittsburgh Department of Psychology is marking its 100th anniversary this year.
The department will hold an Open House Oct. 22 from 1 to 5 p.m. on the 3rd and 4th floor of Sennott Square, 210 S. Bouquet St., Oakland. Pitt faculty and researchers will display current projects, and a panel discussion at 2 p.m. will feature Pitt alumni who have used their psychology degrees in a variety of fields, including medicine, law, pediatrics, and business.
One of the largest departments at Pitt, the Department of Psychology has an impressive record of achievement in teaching and research. The department was housed at several campus locations until 2002, when it was moved into its state-of-the-art headquarters at Sennott Square.
