CONFERENCE

4/8-10 The three-day conference titled "Cultural Rights: Trends and Prospects" is sponsored by Pitt's Asian Studies Center and Department of Music. The conference will be held April 8 and 9 at the Pittsburgh Athletic Association, 4215 Fifth Ave., Oakland, and April 10 in the Babcock Room on the 40th floor of the Cathedral of Learning, 4200 Fifth Ave. A concert held in conjunction with the conference will be presented at 8 p.m. April 8, Bellefield Hall, 315 S. Bellefield Ave., Oakland. General admission is $15 and $10 for seniors and students. Admission is free for students with a valid Pitt ID. EXHIBITION

4/7 Pitt will host a traveling exhibition titled "The Migrant Project: Contemporary California Farm Workers," the work of photographer, writer, and filmmaker Rich Nahmias, that runs through April 23 in the Kimbo Gallery, William Pitt Union, 3959 Fifth Ave., Oakland. A documentary film titled "The Hands That Feed Us" will accompany the photographs. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Saturday, noon-5 p.m. As part of the exhibition, visitors are invited to meet photographer Nahmias at an Open House from 2 to 6 p.m. April 10 in the Kimbo Gallery. 4/7 Pitt Kuntu Repertory Theatre will continue its presentation of the 1992 Tony Award Winner Jelly's Last Jam, based on the book by George C. Wolfe and directed by Edward G. Smith, in the Seventh-Floor Auditorium of Alumni Hall, 4227 Fifth Ave., Oakland. The play runs through April 9. Performances are at 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, and 4 p.m. Sundays.
