PITT NAMES TWO ASSOCIATE VICE CHANCELLORS

PITTSBURGH, Feb. 19 -- Ronald W. Frisch has been named associate vice chancellor for human resources at the University of Pittsburgh, and Ana M. Guzman has been named associate vice chancellor for facilities management for the University. Both individuals had been serving in the positions on an interim basis and the permanent appointments are effective immediately.

Frisch joined Pitt in January 1995 as director of compensation and benefits, and was named interim associate vice chancellor for human resources in July 1996. Prior to coming to the University, he was a group/regional director of human resources at Deloitte & Touche.

He is the immediate past president of the Robert Morris College Alumni Association and a past member of the Robert Morris College Board of Trustees. His professional affiliations include the Society for Human Resource Management, the American Compensation Association, the Pittsburgh Human Resources Association, and the University Club.

Guzman has worked at Pitt for 19 years, and served as interim associate vice chancellor for facilities management for the past 17 months. Prior to that, she was the director of planning, responsible for the design of capital projects. Her first position at Pitt was as a project architect.

She has a degree in architecture from the University of Cordoba, Argentina, and is a registered architect in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. A member of the American Institute of Architects, she is also a member and past president of the Association of University Architects. Her other memberships include the Board of Standards and Appeals and the Board of Code Review for the City of Pittsburgh.
