PITT POLICE WIN THE GOLD IN THE PENNSYLVANIA POLICE OLYMPICS
PITTSBURGH, July 8 -- At the University of Pittsburgh, the long arm of the law is now the strong arm of the law.
Pitt security guard, Dominick C. Sciulli Jr., and Pitt Police Sergeant Nick Fiscante won gold medals in the annual Pennsylvania Police Olympics held in Lancaster, PA on June 13.
Fiscante, 45, won two gold medals in the power lifting and bench press competitions. He lifted a total of 1,200 pounds in the power lifting competition that included the squat, the bench press and the dead lift.
A Pitt graduate with 20 years on the force, Fiscante has participated in the Pennsylvania Police Olympics for ten consecutive years and has won the power lifting gold medal all ten years.
Sciulli, 26, also won a gold medal in the power lifting competition and a bronze medal in the bench press competition. He lifted 665 pounds in the squat, 380 pounds in the bench press and 655 pounds in the dead lift for a total of 1700 pounds. This is his second consecutive gold medal. Fiscante and Sciulli plan to compete in this year's International Police Olympics in Dubai, Saudi Arabia on November 7.
