PITT TO HOLD DEBATE ON NUCLEAR DETERRENCE
PITTSBURGH, April 16 -- The question, "Does the United States' posture of nuclear deterrence threaten international stability?" will be argued in a debate sponsored by the University of Pittsburgh William Pitt Debating Union on Monday, April 19 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the William Pitt Union Ballroom, Oakland.
Dr. Robert Tiller of Physicians for Social Responsibility will take the affirmative position while United States Air Force Lt. Colonel Charles Ayala, the Air Force National Defense Fellow at Pitt's Ridgway Center for International Security Studies, will oppose.
