PITTSBURGH, April 27 -- The second Dr. Samuel Francis School Law Symposium, addressing legal issues affecting public schools, will be presented by the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and the School of Education's

Tri-State Area School Study Council and Department of Administrative and Policy Studies on Wednesday and Thursday, May 19 and 20 in the William Pitt Union, Oakland. A complete schedule is attached.

The symposium is held in memory of Francis, a professor emeritus, legal scholar, principal and school director, whose teaching and writing advanced the knowledge and practice of school law in Pennsylvania.

The program will include discussions on "Student Rights and Censorship," "Zero Tolerance Weapons Policy," and "Issues Shaping the Law in the Dawning Age of Cyberspace," and half-day workshops on legal issues of interest to business officials, principals, athletic directors and solicitors.
