9/9 The Kuntu Repertory Theatre will inaugurate its 25th anniversary season with a pre-gala celebration fund-raiser. Featured will be a sneak preview of Lorraine Hansberry's award-winning drama "A Raisin in the Sun", scheduled to run from September 15 through October

9/3 The Center for Latin American Studies will present a lecture titled "Costa Rican Archaeology in its Territorial Context," by Oscar Fonseca, Director of the Institute for Social Science Research at the University of Costa Rica. 9/10 The Center for Latin American Studies will present "Current Trends in Scholarship on the Southern Cone and Brazil", a Latin American Studies Association Symposium. Presentations will be given by Jeremy Adelman (History, Princeton University), Manuel Antonio Garreton (Sociology, Universidad de Chile), Thomas Holloway (History, Cornell University), and Scott Mainwaring (Political Science, University of Notre Dame). Pitt professors Barry Ames (Political Science), Reid Andrews (History), and John Markoff (Sociology) will provide commentary.
