PITT TO PRESENT "BLUES IN JAZZ WATERS" AT BARNES & NOBLE
PITTSBURGH, Nov. 3 -- The University of Pittsburgh's internationally-renowned Kuntu Repertory Theatre (KRT) will perform "Blues in Jazz Waters," a production by KRT founder and artistic director Vernell A. Lillie, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 15, at the Barnes & Noble bookstore, downtown.
This collage performance highlights Pittsburgh's blues and jazz greats, featuring poetry and music from some of the city's most memorable artists, including Billy Eckstein, Mary Lou Williams, Art Blakely, and Errol Garner.
The presentation is the next in a monthly series offered at Barnes & Noble by the University Center for International Studies, Africana Studies and the African Drum & Dance Ensemble at Pitt.
The event is free and open to the public. Barnes & Noble is located at
339 Sixth Street, entrance on Smithfield Street.
