PITT'S COLLEGE OF GENERAL STUDIES TO HOST "CGS LIVE"
PITTSBURGH, Mar. 2 -- Adult students at the University of Pittsburgh will have a chance to have their voices heard at "CGS LIVE," on Tuesday,
March 13, at 8:30 p.m., in the Biomedical Science Tower South on Lothrop Street. Hosted by the College of General Studies, and modeled after a town hall meeting, "CGS LIVE" will provide non-traditional students the opportunity to discuss academic, economic, and social issues unique to them. Students may also "attend" the meeting online by logging on to www.pitt.edu/~cgs to hear a live audio stream and submit thoughts and comments via email.
"The dynamics of our region are changing, and resources are being concentrated on the 'spike' industries that will bring job growth to the area. As a consequence, CGS is reexamining the way it achieves its mission of outreach to the community," said CGS Dean Susan Kinsey. "Adult students coping with this changing environment have a valuable perspective on these and other issues relative to the challenges facing non-traditional students."
On hand at the meeting will be fellow students, the senior staff of CGS, and Dean Kinsey. For more information, log on to the website or call
412-624-6608.
