PITT'S FAITH TECH CENTER TO OFFER JULY COMPUTER CLASSES
PITTSBURGH--Registration is underway for free computer classes to be held in July at the Faith Tech Center, St. James Episcopal Church, 11524 Frankstown Road, in Penn Hills. The classes, which begin July 16, are offered through the University of Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Service-Learning Alliance.
The courses include Introduction to Word Processing; Introduction to Computers; Internet Levels 1, 2, and 3; and Computer Refurbishing. Several courses are designed for teachers and meet Pennsylvania Department of Education Act 48 requirements.
The Vira I. Heinz Endowment funds the Faith Tech Center, operated by
Pitt and the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh.
Classes are open to people of all ages and backgrounds. Students are encouraged, but not required, to serve in the community in return for the free computer classes. To register, or for more information, call 412-242-5722 or visit the website at www.faithtechcenter.com.
