Pitt’s Asian Studies Center to Present Fall 2010 Asia Over Lunch Lecture Series
PITTSBURGH—The University of Pittsburgh’s Asian Studies Center will present the Fall 2010 Asia Over Lunch lecture series at noon on Thursdays, beginning Sept. 30. The lectures will be held in 4130 Posvar Hall, 230 S. Bouquet St., Oakland. Asian Studies is part of Pitt’s University Center for International Studies.

Jennifer McDowell, Pitt PhD student in anthropology, “Japanese Kokeshi Dolls: Shifting Signifiers and Wooden Tradition”;

Cecile Chu-Chin Sun, Pitt associate professor of East Asian languages and literatures, “The Paradox of Poetic Representation”;
