4/8-9  The University Department of Music presents the University Gamelan Ensemble performing the music and dance of Indonesia at 8 p.m., Bellefield Hall Auditorium, Bellefield Hall, 315 S. 4/7   Pitt Purchasing Services will host the 2011 Buy-It-Green University of Pittsburgh Supplier Showcase from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the William Pitt Student Union, 3959 Fifth Ave., Oakland. The focus this year is on the green economy and the long-term financial benefits of sustainability. The event’s keynote speaker is Yalmaz Siddiqui, director of environmental strategy for Office Depot and a renowned expert on building a sustainable business. More than 20 Pitt-contracted suppliers and departments will showcase their green themes, products, and innovations. Representatives from Duquesne Light and West Penn Power will demonstrate energy-saving tips. No-waste food and beverages will be served throughout the day.
