MEDIA ADVISORY: Power Outage Closes University of Pittsburgh’s Academic and Administrative Buildings Aug. 19
PITTSBURGH—A power outage at Duquesne Light’s Oakland substation has left most of the University of Pittsburgh without power. In order to preserve power to maintain critical services, all academic and administrative university buildings are closed until further notice. Residence halls will remain open with limited power for the small number of students currently on campus. Essential personnel should report to their supervisors. Check the Pitt Web site for further updates.
