Pitt Dance Ensemble to Present “Kinetix” Dance Concert Nov. 3 and 4

PITTSBURGH—Jazz, hip-hop, ballet, tap, ballroom, and modern styles of dance will be featured at the University of Pittsburgh Dance Ensemble’s “Kinetix” studio dance concert at 7 p.m. Nov. 3 and 4 in the Trees Hall Dance Studio, at the corner of Allequippa and Darragh streets, Oakland. A $3 donation is requested at the door.

The informal concerts will highlight student and professional work, completed choreography, and choreography in progress, with choreographers discussing their works. Special guests include Pitt’s Ballet Club and the Ballroom Dance Class under the direction of Pitt instructor Mary Margaret Zugell.

Pitt students premiering their choreography include Lauren Burgess, Becky Burdick, Emily Cramer, Hannah Cramer, Amanda Ferrara, Sara Fried, Camille Keenan, Kristin Kutchak, Gracie Perry, Abbey Rumbold, Elisa Singh, Jasmine Singson, Tracy Stepien, Taylor Tommasino, Cayla Turner, Kaitlin Weaver, Corinne Williams, and Jessica Vamos. 

The Pitt Dance Ensemble, housed in the Department of Health and Physical Activity in the School of Education and supported by Pitt’s Student Government Board, is a student dance group that performs theatrical dance and provides classes, workshops, and master classes for University students. The students choreograph, perform, and work behind the scenes to produce this and other concerts throughout the year.
