12/2 Pitt’s Department of Music presents the Women’s Choral Ensemble Holiday Concert performing sacred and popular music for the holidays, at 8 p.m., Heinz Memorial Chapel, Fifth and Bellefield avenues, Oakland. Advance tickets are $8.50 general admission and $5 for non-Pitt students and senior citizens; they are available at www.proartstickets.org or at 412-394-3353. Tickets at the door are $15 general admission and $10 for non-Pitt students and senior citizens. The event is free for Pitt students with a valid ID.

12/2 The Emerging Legend Series presents a free performance by indie folk-pop duo Too Tall Americanos, from noon to 1 p.m., Cup & Chaucer Café, ground floor, Hillman Library, 3960 Forbes Ave., Oakland. Reischauer, president of the Urban Institute, will present a lecture titled “This Time Really Will Be Different: Adapting to Fiscal Reality” as part of Pitt’s American Experience Distinguished Lecture Series. Dick Thornburgh, former Pennsylvania governor, U.S. attorney general and U.N. undersecretary general, will moderate, at 4 p.m., O’Hara Student Center, 4024 O’Hara St., Oakland.
