LECTURES

3/14 Bruce Cumings, Gustavus F. and Ann M. Swift Distinguished Service Professor in History at the University of Chicago, and L. Gordon Flake, executive director of the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation, will lead a symposium titled “Whither North Korea?” at 6 p.m., Frick Fine Arts Auditorium, 650 Schenley Dr., Oakland. A coffee reception will be held at 5:30 p.m. The symposium is sponsored by Pitt’s Asian Studies Center and the Korea Council of the University of Pittsburgh and the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh. 3/15 Enzo Borsellino, associate professor of museology and Distinguished Italian Fulbright Chair at Roma Tre University, will present a lecture titled “The Art Collection of Christina of Sweden (1626-1689): Cleopatra Rediscovered,” at 4 p.m., 202 Frick Fine Arts Building, 650 Schenley Dr., Oakland. 3/16 Patricia Widener, assistant professor of sociology at Florida Atlantic University, will present a lecture titled “Unjust Movements: Oil and Food Injustices in Ecuador and Florida,” at noon, 2432 Posvar Hall, 230 S. 3/20 Marie Weil, Berg-Beach Distinguished Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Social Work, will deliver a free lecture titled “Community Practice: From Local to Global Perspectives and Back,” at noon, Pitt’s School of Social Work Conference Center, 20th floor, Cathedral of Learning, 4200 Fifth Ave., Oakland.
