Pitt Dance Ensemble to Present “Momentum” Nov. 1 and 2

Dance Ensemble 2012 MomentumPITTSBURGH—Jazz, hip-hop, ballet, tap, ballroom, and modern styles of dance will be featured at the University of Pittsburgh Dance Ensemble’s “Momentum” studio dance concerts Nov. 1 and 2 at 7 p.m. in the dance studio of Trees Hall at the corner of Allequippa and Darragh streets, Oakland. A $3 donation will be requested at the door.

The informal concerts will highlight student work, completed choreography, and choreography in progress with choreographers discussing their works.? Pitt students premiering their choreography will include Lauren Burgess, Emily Cramer, Hannah Cramer, Amanda Ferrara, Alex Cardy, Emma Chamas, Brittany Cipriani, Cassidy Davis, Kendra Guiness, Maddie McCauley, Gracie Perry, Kat Piascik, Elisa Singh, Cayla Turner, and Corinne Williams. 

Special guests will include Pitt’s Ballet Club and the Ballroom Dance Class under the direction of instructor Mary Margaret Zugell. 

The Pitt Dance Ensemble, housed in the School of Education’s Department of Health and Physical Activity and supported by the Student Government Board, is a student dance group that performs theatrical dance and provides classes, workshops, and master classes for University students. The students choreograph, perform, and work behind the scenes to produce this and other concerts throughout the year.
