Pitt Professor Named Fellow of Engineering Institute

PITTSBURGH—Bopaya Bidanda, the Ernest E. Roth Professor of Industrial Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh and chair of Pitt's Department of Industrial Engineering, has been selected by the board of trustees of the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) as a 2002 IIE Fellow. Bidanda will be recognized at the IIE 2002 Solutions Conference, to be held May 19-22 in Orlando, Fla.
The award is the highest classification of membership in IIE and recognizes the profession's outstanding leaders—those who have made significant, nationally recognized contributions to industrial engineering primarily through their professional accomplishments, either managerial or technical, and service to the profession and their communities.
