Lawrence Feick Named Interim Dean of Pitt's Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business and College of Business Administration
PITTSBURGH—Lawrence Feick, professor of business administration and director of the International Business Center at the University of Pittsburgh, has been named interim dean of Pitt's Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business and College of Business Administration, effective Aug. 1.
Feick, a member of the Katz faculty since 1982, teaches marketing management and international marketing; his research includes work in international marketing (particularly crosscultural consumer behavior), consumer information search, word-of-mouth influence, and the analysis of categorical data.
An associate dean of the Katz School from 1989 to 1996, Feick has been a consultant to a number of profit and nonprofit firms and has done extensive work in executive education. He is the coauthor of Country Manager, an international marketing simulation game, and has published articles in a range of professional journals, including the Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Psychological Bulletin, and Public Opinion Quarterly. He has served as president of the Association for International Business Education and Research and the Sheth Foundation.
Feick, who received the B.A. degree in psychology in 1974 and the M.S. degree in agricultural economics in 1977 from the University of Delaware and the Ph.D. degree in agricultural economics in 1981 from The Pennsylvania State University, replaces Katz School Dean Frederick W. Winter, who will retire Aug. 1 to continue his academic career in research and teaching as a professor in the Katz School.
