CHANCELLOR'S AWARDS HONOR OUTSTANDING PITT FACULTY AND STAFF
PITTSBURGH, Feb. 3 -- The annual Chancellor's Awards for outstanding contributions in teaching, research, and public service will be presented to 15 University of Pittsburgh faculty members and five Pitt staff members at the University's Honors Convocation, on Monday, Feb. 28 at 3 p.m. in Carnegie Music Hall.
The 2000 Chancellor's Distinguished Teaching Award recipients are: Susan A. Albrecht, department of health and community systems, School of Nursing; L. Keith Brown, department of anthropology, Faculty of Arts and Sciences; Martin Greenberg, department of psychology, Faculty of Arts and Sciences; Joanne J. Viano, division of humanities, Pitt Greensburg; and Rhonda Wasserman, School of Law.
The 2000 Chancellor's Distinguished Research Award has senior and junior categories. The senior research category recipients are: Anthony A. Grace, department of neuroscience, Faculty of Arts and Sciences; Charles A. Perfetti, department of psychology, Faculty of Arts and Sciences; and Martha E. Pollack, department of computer science, Faculty of Arts and Sciences. The junior research category recipients are: Kevin D. Ashley, School of Law, and Robert H. Getzenberg, department of pathology, School of Medicine.
The 2000 Chancellor's Distinguished Public Service Award recipients are: George E. McClomb, School of Social Work; Karen S. Peterson, department of health services administration, Graduate School of Public Health; Sudhakar P. Reddy, department of medicine, School of Medicine; Anthony J. Silvestre, department of infectious diseases/microbiology, Graduate School of Public Health; and Barbara E. Spier, department of health and community systems, School of Nursing.
The recipients of the 2000 Chancellor's Award for Excellence for staff employees are: Sherry M. Cleary, director, University Child Development Center; Ronald Gigliotti, assistant director, Office of Special Events; Robert B. Hoffman, director of operations, Department of Computer Science; Linda C. Howard, advertising and office manager, University Times; and Kathleen Sidorovich, research administrator, School of Medicine.
All of the award recipients receive a cash prize, along with permanent recognition on a plaque in the William Pitt Union.
