DERRICK BELL TO SPEAK AT AFRICAN AMERICAN ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP DINNER
PITTSBURGH, Sept. 1 -- Derrick Bell, one of the most compelling voices in the African American community and nationally known civil rights activist, pro-fessor, and best-selling author, will be the keynote speaker at the African American Alumni Scholarship Dinner on Friday, Sept. 15, at 7 p.m. at the Sheraton Station Square.
Bell, who graduated from Pitt's law school in 1957, is a visiting professor at New York University Law School. He is best known as the first African American to earn tenure on the Harvard law faculty.
