PITT'S KUNTU REPERTORY THEATRE SPONSORS GOSPEL SING-OUT TALENT SHOW
PITTSBURGH, Jan. 10 -- The University of Pittsburgh's Kuntu Repertory Theatre is sponsoring a Gospel Sing-Out Talent Show, from 7 to 9 p.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 31, at the Masonic Temple, 4227 Fifth Avenue, Oakland.
The competition is open to the public, but will be limited to 30 contestants, each of whom will be given up to four minutes to perform a Gospel song.
Prizes will awarded for first, second, and third place, and winners will be given an opportunity to perform during the intermission of the Kuntu presentation of "Mahalia Jackson: Singing on Holy Ground" on Feb. 2, 3 or 4.
Interested participants must register for the competition in advance by phone (412-648-2011) or e-mail (rroebuck@pitt.edu), or by visiting Pitt's Department of Africana Studies, Room 3T01, Posvar Hall, 230 S. Bouquet Street, on the Pitt campus.
