PITT'S STUDENT HEALTH SERVICE TO HOLD HEALTH FAIR
PITTSBURGH, Jan. 17 -- The University of Pittsburgh Student Health Service will hold "Health Fair 2001: Be a Healthy Survivor," on Wednesday, Jan. 24, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the William Pitt Union Assembly Room.
Free and open to the public, the health fair will offer health screenings such as body fat percent, cholesterol testing, blood pressure readings, and oral exams by the Pitt Dental School.
Entertainment includes aerobic kick boxing, a hip hop dance performance by Raw Talent, aerobics and yoga demonstrations, and the Pitt Dance Ensemble demonstrating dance techniques. Participants also can try their luck at winning the many prizes and giveaways offered by area merchants.
The annual health fair is coordinated through the Health Education Office and is one of the many programs provided by the Student Health Service. Numerous campus groups and community organizations such as West Penn AAA, Family Health Council, and Pitt's School of Dental Medicine, assist in presenting the fair.
Awareness and practice of healthier lifestyles is the event's goal. For additional information, contact the Health Education Office at 412-383-1830.
