Pitt to Present 33rd Annual Latin American and Caribbean Festival March 23
PITTSBURGH—The Center for Latin American Studies in the University of Pittsburgh’s University Center for International Studies will host the 33rd annual Latin American and Caribbean Festival from noon to midnight on March 23 in the Wesley W. Posvar Hall Galleria, first floor, 230 S. Bouquet St., Oakland.
The festival will feature children’s activities, vendors offering a variety of cuisines and arts and crafts objects, and performances by music and dance groups showcasing traditions from Latin America and the Caribbean. From 10 p.m. to midnight, attendees can dance to the sounds of Latin American music.
Since its inception in 1979, the festival has showcased Pittsburgh’s diverse Latin American and Caribbean cultures. The growth of Pittsburgh's Latin American community has made the festival one of the largest gatherings of Latin Americans in Western Pennsylvania.
The festival is sponsored by Pitt’s Center for Latin American Studies, Med Health Services, and the Pittsburgh Cardiovascular Institute.
